Duana Pearson, Owner, Horticulturist
Duana was born on Anglesey, North Wales, where she spent most of her time exploring the island and 'helping' her parents on their small holding.
She moved to County Durham at the age of 10 to a slightly less rural home. Then at 15 her family moved again, this time to Avebury, Wiltshire; her mothers childhood stomping ground. It was here she started volunteering in the local National Trust manor garden whilst also doing her GCSE's. Duana attended Wiltshire College Lackham, where she studied horticulture and won the practical proficiency award.
Within a month of finishing college she had a seasonal gardener role at Avebury Manor Garden, her volunteering had paid off! By the beginning of autumn 2008 Duana had the progressed to the full-time gardener position. Here she assisted the head gardener and became pretty handy with a hedge trimmer.
She moved to Cornwall in 2010 to join the outdoor team at the Eden Project where she began specialising in growing fruit and vegetables. As well as this Duana helps maintain the outdoor gardens and also teaches on the professional and leisure learning horticulture courses.
